Laura Wiley, Trial Coordinator
Biography
Laura is a Research Fellow based in the York Trials Unit at the University of York and coordinates the delivery of randomised controlled trials. Prior to joining the York Trials Unit in 2018, Laura worked within the Clinical Trials and Statistics Unit at the Institute of Cancer Research, London. She gained her PhD at Newcastle University in 2014 researching the biology of ageing. Laura’s main research interests include healthy ageing, well-being and data quality assurance.
In February 2023, Laura started to support the delivery of the randomised controlled trial which is part of the ComBAT research programme. Laura also supports the delivery of two other NIHR HTA funded randomised controlled trials: the Gentle Years Yoga Trial, a randomised controlled trial to determine the clinical and cost-effectiveness of an adapted yoga programme for older adults with multimorbidity; and the moreRESPECT Trial, a randomised controlled trial of a sexual health promotion intervention for people with severe mental illness delivered in community mental health settings.
Role in ComBAT
As Trial Coordinator Laura will support the delivery of the Randomised Controlled Trial.
